Cooch Behar: Locals protested against felling of an age-old tree in an area adjacent to BS Road on Sunday. Locals alleged that some workers had initiated the task saying that they were ordered to cut some branches as it may fall on pedestrians or on overhead power cables. But locals protested when they found that they were felling two full grown trees. The workers initially said they were engaged by the PWD but fled when locals asked for the work order.
