Bidhannagar Police arrested a person on Thursday night on charges of raping a girl. The accused person, who was a housekeeping staff of a hotel at Chinar Park area, had allegedly raped a hotel management student who was doing her internship there. Police initiated a case and arrested the accused person, identified as one Suman Dutta (35).
Dutta was later produced before the court. The investigators learnt that the victim started working in the hotel as an intern on June 7. The accused person met her at the lobby of the hotel on the very first day. He promised to provide her all kinds of help during her internship period. The girl, who is resident of Salt Lake's Sector II, had informed the investigators that she was raped by the accused person. He threatened her to kill if she would try to inform it to his family. But the girl could not hide her tremendous mental pressure and informed her parents. "Police arrested the culprit after the victim's parents lodged complaint," said a police officer.
