Narada News CEO Mathew Samuel will be questioned once again in Munchipara police station on Tuesday in connection with the Munchipara extortion case.
It may be recalled that the police had found a laptop from a hotel room at Munchipara. There were video footages in the laptop in which presence of Samuel was found. The police had conducted a raid after receiving a complaint that a former Central minister from Bihar had received a call from Central Kolkata demanding extortion money of Rs five crore.
The police had questioned Samuel earlier for three consecutive days from June 16. He was summoned again on Tuesday and asked to produce documents including his tax return papers for the year 2014-15. He was also asked to provide his appointment letter that he had got from Tehelka in 2014 as well as his resignation letter. Besides asking him to provide details of documents related to his property of his family members, he was also directed to let police know about the employees who had resigned from Narada in details. He also has to submit their resignation letters.
Sources said that the police have asked him to provide the details as the video footages that were found in the laptop that was recovered from the hotel also seemed to be a part of a sting operation.
The police had come to know that the person who had boarded in the hotel had used a fake identity card in which the person had mentioned his name to be Vikram Singh. So the police are trying to know the exact identity of Vikram as he is the only person who could reveal that who else were involved in the case of extortion. So the police will be once again asking Samuel about Vikram, sources said.
