The decision of the state government to increase the festival bonus and advance has been welcomed by its employees.
On Wednesday, the state government has made the announcement of giving adhoc bonus and advance to its employees.
Employees, who get salary between Rs 26,000 and Rs 36,000 will be getting Rs 5,000 as adhoc bonus. It may be mentioned that the amount has been increased by Rs 1,000. Last year, the employees getting salary between Rs 26,000 and Rs 36,000, had received ad-hoc bonus of Rs 4,000. At the same time, the employees whose salary is below Rs 26,000 will be getting ad-hoc bonus of Rs 3,600. It has also been increased as last year the amount was Rs 3,400.
According to a notification of the state Finance department, Muslim state government employees will be getting the ad-hoc bonus by June 19 and in case of other employees, it will be disbursed between September 11 and 18 2017. "In case there is any failure, the disbursement should be made as early as possible before the festival of Durga Puja/Eid-Ul-Fitre." The casual workers who have put in work at least for 120 days and the employees on consolidated pay in the year 2016-17 will also be entitled to ad-hoc bonus, the maximum amount of which will be Rs 3,600.
The state government employees have welcomed the move of the state government in increasing the advance and bonus. They appreciated the move of the state government saying that the Mamata Banerjee government has taken the step despite giving a huge amount to the Centre to clear the debt made by the erstwhile Left Front government. Moreover, despite such a situation, the Chief Minister is taking all necessary steps to ensure an overall development of the state.
