In order to rope in the left out young electors in the age group of 18-19 years, the Election Commission of India will start a special drive in West Bengal from next Monday. "In tune with the theme of no voters to be left behind, the ECI has decided to launch a special drive to maximise enrollment of left out electors, in particular the potential young electors (18-19 age group) with reference to 01.01.2017 as qualifying date," the ECI said in a release issued on Thursday.
The 19-day-long special drive, which is scheduled to be launched on June 12, will be completed on June 30, it said. During the special drive, the ECI will accept forms from applicants and priority will be given to left out eligible voters in 18-19 age group (extendable up to 21 years), the ECI said. Besides, the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will continue visiting every households to collect Form 6.
