A team comprising officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday collected samples from the spot where a party office of Trinamool Congress was damaged in an explosion at Ausgram in East Burdwan.
Trinamool Congress leaders alleged that goons backed by CPI(M) and BJP had attacked the party office on Sunday evening and it collapsed as they hurled bombs inside the party office.
The CID officers including some from the agency's bomb squad collected some empty shells of socket bombs and iron nails from the spot. The investigating officers have also collected samples of white cement that was found at in that area. An earth mover was engaged in evening and the investigating officers have found some empty bottles of insecticides.
Local Trinamool Congress leader alleged that CPI(M) and BJP had engaged goons to attack the party office to create panic among people before the Panchayat elections.
