Kolkata: Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao will meet Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna on Monday to discuss the nuances that will be followed to form the Federal Front.
KCR will meet Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and will meet Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav separately in Delhi.
KCR had met Banerjee earlier as well. He is in favour of forming a non-Congress, non-BJP government at the Centre. In the recently held Assembly polls in Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samithi of KCR has seen a landslide victory. Congress has bagged 19 seats, while BJP got only one seat.
It may be mentioned that Mamata Banerjee has been talking about the formation of Federal Front from early 2018. She had predicted that in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, BJP would be defeated.
After BJP's defeat, the Opposition parties have begun a renewed effort to consolidate the parties against BJP so that one candidate can be fielded against BJP in all seats.
Chandrababu Naidu had met Mamata Banerjee and on Saturday, Farooq Abdullah met her as well and discussed about the functioning of the Federal Front. Many national leaders who will join the Front will come to attend the Brigade Parade Ground Rally, scheduled to be held on January 19, 2019.
