Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court on Thursday granted bail to the activists who were involved in the struggle against the anti power grid project at Bhangar in South 24 Parganas. It may be mentioned that a lower court in Baruipur had extended judicial remand of Sarmistha Chowdhury and Pradip Singh Thakur on the plea of the CID which was investigating the incident. Justice Joymalyo Bagchi granted bail to Chowdhury and Thakur on a bond of Rs 50,000 each and two sureties of similar amounts.
