Kolkata: Fire broke out at a warehouse in Taltala late on Sunday night. Four fire tenders doused the fire after almost two hours. No one was injured in the incident.
According to locals, at around 1:40 am on Sunday night, some of them saw smoke coming out of a warehouse at Doctors Bylane in Taltala. When they tried to douse the fire, one of them fell ill due to the smoke. As the warehouse was locked, no one was able to spread water on the source of the fire. Immediately, the fire brigade and police were informed and four fire tenders were pressed into action. As the shutters were locked, they had to break in.
At around 3:30 am, the fire was controlled. It is suspected that the mishap occurred due to a short-circuit. Sources informed that there was no fire fighting system installed at the warehouse.
