Kolkata: In a bid to take stock of the expected balance funds of Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) till the end of the current fiscal, the state Finance department has convened a meeting with all departments of the state government.
The meeting will be held on February 19 in the state secretariat Nabanna.
It may be mentioned that a report on fund and expenditure position of the CSS till January 31 has already been circulated among all the departments, which are implementing such projects.
The report was circulated during a meeting held in the first week of February.
According to an official of the Finance department, the reports need to be reconciled by the department with each of the other departments "before the end of the financial year so as to collate information on scheme-wise receipt of the fund and expenditure thereof and balance funds expected till March 31".
The meeting in this regard will be held in the state secretariat on February 19, in which senior officers of all the departments which deal with CSS, will be present and will be giving each of their views, apart from placing the expenditure details and expected balance fund till the end of the 2017-18 financial year.
Senior officials of as many as 31 departments including Agriculture, Agriculture Marketing, Animal Resource Development, Cooperation, Health and Family Welfare, Tribal Development, Youth Services and Sports, School and Higher Education, Science and Technology and Biotechnology department, will be holding the meeting separately with officials from the Finance department.
The first meeting to assess the proper utilisation of the CSS fund was held on October 31. Chief Secretary Malay De headed the meeting.
Since then, the state Finance department has held quite a number of meetings with all the concerned departments and ensured its proper and timely implementation.
