Kolkata: In a major reshuffle in the IPS cadre, Deputy Commissioners of Police (DC) of the six divisions of Kolkata Police have been changed on Tuesday. Subhankar Sinha Sarkar, who was the DC of the North Division of the Kolkata Police, has become DC Central.
Meeraj Khalid has become the DC of South Division who was earlier the DC of South West division.
Debasis Sarkar, the DC of the city police's Enforcement Branch, has become the new DC of the North Division. Nilanjan Biswas has become the DC of the South-West Division. He was earlier posted as AIG (Security) of the Directorate of Security. Rupesh Kumar, who was the DC of the South Sub-urban (Jadavpur) Division, has become the DC of East Division. Nimbalkar Santosh Uttamrao has been transferred to the post of DC South Sub-urban Division. He was the DC of the second battalion of the Kolkata Armed Police.
Biswajit Ghosh DC of the Reserve Force of the Kolkata Police has become the DC of the Enforcement Branch. The DC of the third battalion of the Kolkata Armed Police, Saumya Roy, has become the new DC of the Reserve Force.
In another reshuffle in the IAS cadre in Bengal, the District Magistrate (DM) of Jalpaiguri has been changed.
The new DM of the district is Shilpa Gourisaria, replacing Rachna Bhagwat. Gourisaria was the Director (Finance) of the Highway Development Corporation. Bhagwat, who was the DM of Jalpaiguri, will be the new Managing Director (MD) of West Bengal Swarojgar Corporation Limited. In a minor reshuffle in the IPS cadre of Bengal, Kunwar Bhushan Singh has been made the Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) of Jhargram.
