"This is not the time for doing politics. I also have many differences of opinion with the Centre. But now the first priority is to work to save the lives of people," Banerjee said, urging the media to serve news sensibly so that it does not create panic among people.

Asking police to file a case in this connection, she told the Commissioner of Police (CP), Kolkata, Anuj Sharma to take strict action against any person who will be found spreading rumour or fake news. She alleged that several bits of fake information are being spread using the name of media houses, which should be looked into.
