Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the State MSME Conclave on Monday.
The conclave, that will continue on Tuesday as well, will be held at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. State Finance minister Amit Mitra who is also the minister for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) and Textiles department, and Alapan Bandyopadhyay, Additional Chief Secretary of the department, will also be present at the programme.
It may be mentioned that the MSME sector in Bengal has reached a new height in the past seven years with the Mamata Banerjee government taking several initiatives for the development of necessary infrastructure and promotion of the same.
Now, the conclave at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre is going to provide another major platform for entrepreneurs from the sector in the state.
The programme on the second day of the conclave that is on Tuesday has been divided into four plenary sessions and a concluding session at the end. The first plenary session will be on Lean Manufacturing that will start at around 10.30 am.
The second plenary session is going to be one of the most crucial ones — it'll be on the "SME Listing (IPO)". This comes when the enterprises from the sector are encouraged to get listed with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Sources said that so far there are around 10 MSE enterprises from Bengal that have got listed with the BSE. "Listing of MSME enterprises is going to give further impetus to the sector and the session on this will be of great help to the entrepreneurs," said an official of the MSME and Textiles department adding that this comes as a major support for a "better growth and sustainability" for the MSMEs.
The fourth and fifth sessions are on "Rural Entrepreneurship Hub (REH)" and "Export Orientation" respectively. There will also be a concluding session as well.
An elaborate arrangement has been made to ensure that entrepreneurs can reach the venue without facing any inconvenience. The state Transport department will be deploying buses to help entrepreneurs reach Biswa Bangla Convention Centre from the districts.
