Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will address a congregation of teachers including vice-chancellors and principals of educational institutions on Tuesday, November 5.
"This will be an opportunity for the regular teachers of all colleges and universities across the state to have an interaction with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. We have also extended invitation to all teachers' organisations associated with the educational institutions across the state," said state Education minister Partha Chatterjee on Saturday. The programme will be held at Netaji Indoor Stadium.
It may be mentioned that on August 28, while addressing the foundation day of Trinamool Chatra Parishad, Banerjee had announced her desire to meet the teachers after the Durga Puja and Kali Puja festivals. "Banerjee used to hold Bijoya Sammelani with the vice-chancellors after Durga Puja. But this time, the Chief Minister will be addressing a much bigger gathering," a senior Education department official said.
The Education minister also announced that he will attend a convention of part-time teachers at Nazrul Manch on November 20.
