Kolkata: A body of a madrassa student was found hanging from a tree in New Town on Sunday night.
Police personnel from New Town police station recovered the body and sent it for an autopsy. According to police, both hands of the deceased was tied with a nylon rope from behind. The body was hanging from a tree near his home. Police suspected it to be a murder case. But signs on the body suggest it to be a case of suicide, investigators say. The rope that was tied to his hand was loose enough for police to assume that he himself had tied the rope. Investigators had come to know that the deceased's parents scolded him on Sunday afternoon. As the signs on his body indicates suicide, police think he might have committed it after he was scolded. "The signs are indicating suicide. But the exact cause of the death could be revealed after autopsy. No foul play found till now," said an officer from Bidhannagar Police.
