Kolkata: Mystery shrouds the death of a 32-year-old youth whose body was found hanging from the ceiling of his house at Nodakhali in South 24-Parganas.
Police have started a case of unnatural death in this regard. According to the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the victim might have committed suicide following some family related problems. The exact cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.
The victim has been identified as Swarup Kumar Bera (32). He was found hanging inside his house at Alampur village of Nodakhali on Sunday morning. He was a driver by profession.
After being informed by locals, police reached the spot and recovered the body. It was later sent for autopsy. The investigating officers suspect the victim might have been suffering from depression for the past few days. According to the preliminary investigation, police came to know that Swarup's mother died five years ago. Since then, the victim had been living in the house with his father and elder brother. The victim had also demanded money from his father to set up a separate house. Locals told police a quarrel broke out between the victim and his father. But none could expect that the victim would take such a drastic step. Police are investigating if he had any love relationship. The investigating officers are also examining his mobile phone which might provide clues in this connection. They are investigating if there was foul play behind the incident. The police are interrogating the family members of the victim and waiting got the autopsy report. A detailed probe has been initiated.
