Local residents saw a body of a middle-aged man lying inside the tunnel of Dum Dum Noapara Metro Rail on Sunday at around 11.45 am.
The body was lying there till 2:45 pm since cops from three police stations could not figure out the jurisdiction of that area. Despite repeated requests from the local residents, policemen were hesitant to take the body for post-mortem. Local residents claimed that they had contacted Sinthi police station to remove the body from the spot. But the cops allegedly refused to take the body claiming that the area was not under their jurisdiction. Baranagar police station was also contacted. Even they allegedly said that they do not have any dead body carriage van.
Finally, some people contacted Dum Dum Police station and they ultimately took the body for post-mortem at around 2.45 pm.
