Kolkata: A major reshuffle of IAS officers has been ordered on Monday by the state government, with postings of 12 IAS officers being changed. According to sources, the Central Election Commission had directed the state earlier to make changes in the postings by Monday.
As per the order, District Magistrates (DM) of Purulia and Purba Medinipur were changed. DM of Purulia Alokesh Prasad Roy has been made the Commissioner of the Panchayat department. Additional District Magistrate (ADM), North 24-Parganas, Rahul Majumdar has been posted as the new DM of Purulia.
DM of Purba Medinipur Reshmi Kamal of the 2006 IAS batch has been posted as Executive Director (ED) of West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation.
The Joint Secretary of Personnel & Administr-
ative Reforms Department (P&AR) has been made the new DM.
Apart from the DMs, Hari Ramulu, Commissioner of Burdwan Division, has been posted as the Commissioner of Presidency Division.
Surendra Gupta has been made the new Commissioner of Burdwan Division with additional charge of Secretary in the Heath and Family Welfare department.
The CEO of Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority Ponnambalam S has been given additional charge of ADM, Darjeeling and Rajarshi Mitra has been transferred from the post of Joint Secretary, Project Management Cell in the Cabinet Secretariat, to ADM Hooghly.
Rajat Nanda, ADM of Hooghly, has been posted as the new ADM of Purba Burdwan.
