All govt employees to get due promotions

Kolkata: The state Finance department has made it clear on Tuesday that promotions for the government employees will continue as per their existing service conditions and norms.

A release was issued by the department to rule out rumours doing rounds on social media that all departments have been instructed to stop promotions of its employees till 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

"There is no iota of truth in what has been circulated on the social media. The circulation has been done with mischievous intent in order to create confusion among employees," the statement stated.

The annual increment of 3 percent due on July 1 every year to the state government employees and other organisations will also continue as per existing norms. It may be mentioned that the 3 percent increment for this year has already been released with the pay of all employees. The Finance department in another notification stated that the outstanding balance of 8.80 percent West Bengal State Development Loan 2018 will be repaid on September 10, 2018 with interest due upto September 9, 2018. The notification issued by Additional Chief Secretary of the state Finance department HK Dwivedi further informed that no interest will accrue on the loan from and after September 10, 2018.
