Kolkata: The nine-day long 4th National Theatre Festival will be inaugurated in Kolkata on January 4 at
Rabindra Sadan.
Thespian Bratya Basu, who is also the minister of state for Science and Technology and Biotechnology, Indranil Sen, minister of state for Information and Cultural Affairs and Moloy Ghatak, state Labour minister will be present at the inaugural session at
Rabindra Sadan.
Mir Jafar, a play directed by Bratya Basu and presented by Kalindi Bratyajon will
be enacted.
The entry to the festival is free. The plays will be enacted at Rabindra Sadan, Madhusudan Mancha and
Minerva Theatre.
Plays directed by theatre personalities from other states including Danish Iqbal, Atul Pethe, Girish Pardesh, Sharda Singh, Ratan Thiyam, Neeraj Kunder, Abhishek Garg, Teekam Joshi and Simanta Phukan will be enacted at
the festival. Hindi drama Rathinath Ki Chachi — directed by Sharda Singh will be enacted at Rabindra Sadan on January 10.
Directors from Bengal including Ashoke Pramanick, kaushik Chattopadhyay, Sima Mukhopadhyay and Rakesh Ghosh will be also enacted. On January 12, a special show of Nasika Puran directed by Biplab bandyopadhyay and presented by Minerva natya Sanskriti will be enacted. The shows will star from 6.30pm.
