Under the scheme, 21 community kitchens will be set up and 40,000 people will be provided cooked food. The MP also asked people to maintain their cool and not spread fear during the lockdown period.
Banerjee, who addressed the people through a live video session on Facebook on Tuesday evening, urged them not to spread uncertainty and rumours.

To fight the spread of the disease, one should maintain their cool and follow the instructions when one is going out of home," he said.
Banerjee also advised people to do light exercise at home and take a stroll in the morning and evening. "I walk for an hour everyday as it helps me to maintain the physiological functions."
He urged people to wear masks and wash their hands with sanitiser every time they comeback home and maintain one meter distance from each other while visiting the market.
"Follow the instructions and remove the fear and it will help us to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic," he maintained.
