Kolkata: Two minors and a woman have been injured in three separate accidents in the city on Friday.
Police said that the woman received severe injuries on her left leg after it was crushed under the wheels of a bus as she was getting down from the vehicle.
One of her associates who was also travelling in the bus, alleged that the woman was pushed out of the bus by the conductor, which led to the accident. It occurred in Salt Lake on Friday morning. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital by local people. Police have started a probe in this regard.
The other accident occurred when a matador rammed into a private car on Anandapur Road near Sathybithi. Payel Das, a student of Class I who was travelling in the car, sustained injuries.
Police said that the matador had collided head-on with the car. The victim was initially taken to a private hospital on EM Bypass but later shifted to SSKM Hospital. A resident of Nonadanga, the victim had received injuries in her hands but her condition is stated to be stable now.
After being informed by the local residents, police reached the spot and started a detailed probe. They have seized the matador while its driver had fled from the spot immediately after the incident. Raids are being conducted to nab the driver.
In the third incident, an 8-year-old boy sustained minor injuries when a private car he was travelling in hit an Uber cab on Darga Road. He received minor cut injuries on his face. He was taken to a nearby health centre and later released after primary treatment.
According to the local people, a heated altercation had broken out between the two drivers, resulting in a traffic jam in the area. Police eventually brought the situation under control.
