17-yr-old girl's body found hanging in Liluah home

Kolkata: Mystery shrouds the death of a 17-year-old inmate of Liluah home in Howrah whose body was found inside the toilet of the home on Sunday morning.
The incident triggered tension among the other inmates of the destitute home. The deceased, identified as Suprita Roy, was found hanging from the ceiling of the toilet.
Some inmates informed the matter to the home authorities who in turn sent her to the TL Jaiswal hospital where the doctors pronounced her brought dead.
According to the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the girl might have committed suicide due to mental depression. Police are yet to investigate the exact cause of her death.
The preliminary investigation suggests that Suprita was rescued after she had been abducted.
The child welfare committee and the local police station later handed over the girl to Liluah home in May this year where she had been living ever since.
The inmates of the home told the police that she had her dinner with others on Saturday night and even talked to the inmates normally.
Her roommates said that after having dinner she went to the bathroom. As she did not come out for a long time, the other inmates went to the toilet and found her body hanging from the ceiling.
The home authorities informed the matter to the Belur police station. She was sent to the hospital where she was declared brought dead. Police have started a probe to ascertain the cause of committing suicide.
