New Delhi: A tuberculosis (TB) awareness and free screening programme was conducted at the Shahdara South Zone office of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) under the TB-Free India campaign, focusing on early detection and prevention. The programme was inaugurated by Ward Committee Chairman Ram Kishore Sharma, while Deputy Commissioner Vairocpam Punsiba Singh presided over the event. The District Magistrate (East) attended as the guest of honour.

Free screening services, including digital chest X-rays, sputum testing and blood sugar checks, were provided, with a large number of employees and residents participating. Health experts reiterated that TB is a fully curable disease if diagnosed in time and treated completely. Sharma emphasised the need for collective efforts to eliminate TB and said similar awareness and screening camps would be organised across all 26 wards of the Shahdara South Zone.
