Kolkata: The online application process for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2025 is set to commence on January 22 and will remain open until February 23. Interested candidates can apply through the official WBJEE website, www.wbjeeb.nic.in.

The WBJEE, conducted annually by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB), is a gateway to undergraduate courses in engineering, technology, pharmacy and architecture at various universities and colleges across the state. This year, the examination will be held on April 27, with Paper-I (Mathematics) scheduled from 11 am to 1 pm and Paper-II (Physics and Chemistry) from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Following the closure of the application window on February 23, candidates will have the opportunity to make corrections to their online applications from February 25 to 27. Admit cards will be available for download from April 17. The Board has, however, clarified that all dates are provisional and may change due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Board, which had introduced special concessions for female and third-gender candidates in 2024, has further reduced the application fees for third-gender candidates in reserved categories. The application fee for general category third-gender candidates remains Rs 300, while those in reserved categories will now pay a reduced fee of Rs 200. For male candidates in the general category, the application fee remains Rs 500, while female candidates will pay Rs 400. Reserved category male candidates will be charged Rs 400, with females paying Rs 300.

The WBJEEB has also issued several important guidelines for candidates. They have been advised to arrive at the examination centre at least 30 minutes before the start of the test. Any candidate found with prohibited items, such as mobile phones, bluetooth devices, calculators, wrist watches, or written materials, will face immediate disqualification.

The Board has warned that any attempts to engage in unfair practices will result in strict action, including cancellation of candidature and possible debarment, either permanently or for a specified period. In cases of impersonation, the authorities may involve the police.
