Kolkata: A three-day trial run of traffic movement along the VIP Road between the Haldirams and Airport Hotel Crossing has started from Sunday for the proposed Metro construction work by the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL).
According to Bidhannagar City Police, the trial will be done on the intervening nights of Sunday, Monday and Tuesday between 11 pm and 5 am. During the said time frame, no goods vehicle will be allowed to avail VIP Road from Jessore Road under Barrackpore City Police jurisdiction.
Also, Kolkata Police is diverting the goods vehicles from Ultadanga and Patipukur if required.
Also, vehicles that are coming from Barasat direction are being diverted through Kharibari Road and Rajarhat. Meanwhile, Bidhannagar City Police has urged people to plan their travel time well ahead for the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport during this period to avoid delay.
