Kolkata: About four students were injured after a pool car toppled on James Long Sarani in Thakurpukur on Thursday morning.
Local residents rescued the students and arranged for their treatment. Later the guardians were informed and subsequently, they took the students along.
According to sources, on Thursday around 6:30 am, a pool car was moving along the James Long Sarani. While passing through Thakurpukur Daspara the pool car collided with a stone block kept on the road for the renovation of a median divider.
After the collision, the pool car’s right wheels went on the median divider and after moving a few meters in a tilted condition it toppled.
The local residents sprung into action and the students were rescued. However, none of them suffered any major injuries.
Meanwhile, police arrived and brought the pool car on its wheels using a crane. The pool car has been seized.
In another incident on Wednesday afternoon, a pool car collided with the median divider due to some suspected technical glitch at Baliguri in New Town. However, no students were injured in the incident.
Local people claimed that the driver was talking on his mobile phone and became inattentive due to which the accident had taken place. But police have not found any such clue.
