Kolkata: The state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) questioned doctors and other staff of the Midnapore Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday for the second consecutive day in connection with the alleged death due to administering a particular saline.On the orders of the state government, the CID has started an investigation into the case. A CID team led by a DSP-rank officer from Kolkata is investigating. On Tuesday, CID officials reportedly questioned two junior doctors, four nurses and senior doctors of Medinipur Medical. Besides, Superintendent Jayant Raut of Medinipur Medical was also questioned.
A two-member CID team arrived at Midnapore Medical College and Hospital around 10 am on Wednesday. After that, they went to the principal’s room where the doctors and other hospital staff were questioned.
The CID is not only talking to the doctors, nurses or hospital authorities, but also to the families of the pregnant women. The families of the deceased pregnant woman along with the family members of the other women under treatment were called. After a few hours, the CID team left the hospital and took several documents with them.
