Kolkata: Three persons were killed in a road accident at Dhubulia in Nadia early on Thursday morning after their car rammed behind a parked truck.
According to sources, three youths identified as Debasish Biswas (35), Nayan Sarkar (37) and Sougata Kanu (31) along with another youth Bijoy Bhaskar were enjoying a joyride along the National Highway (NH) 34.
While returning to Dhubulia on Thursday morning, the driver lost control and rammed behind a static stone chips-laden truck in the Bahadurpur area.
Local residents started rescuing the injured persons. The injured youths were rushed to Dhubulia rural hospital from where they were referred to Shaktinagar district hospital.
When they were taken to the Shaktinagar hospital, three youths were declared brought dead while Bhaskar was admitted there.
Cops suspect that the youths were drunk and all of them had fallen asleep while driving. Police have started a probe.
