3 arrested in TMC leader’s murder case in Canning

Kolkata: Three persons were arrested for alleged involvement in Canning Trinamool Congress (TMC) booth president Nantu Ghazi murder case.

Natu, the Trinamool Congress president of booth number 242, in Tentultala Gazipara of Itkhola village Panchayat of Canning Police Station area, went to the market on Friday night.

On his way home, a group of miscreants allegedly surrounded him on the road. Nantu was allegedly hacked by the miscreants with a sharp weapon. He was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared Nantu brought dead.

Nantu’s family alleged that ISF workers are behind the murder and lodged a complaint against the Opposition party workers.

On Saturday night, police nabbed three persons identified as Rashid Jamadar, Muslim Ghazi and Ormzan Ghazi from their homes.

However, the ISF leadership denied the allegations that were made against the arrested trio. ISF claimed that Nantu was murdered by unknown miscreants over a personal issue.

Family members of one of the arrested persons claimed that police have arrested the ISF workers in a case in which they are not at all involved.
