Five people, including four Bangladeshi nationals, have been apprehended by the BSF from West Bengal’s Nadia district for allegedly planning to carry out smuggling, an officer said on Wednesday.

“Acting on intelligence inputs, we raided the house of Bhawananda Halder where four Bangladeshi nationals were hatching a plan to smuggle out cattle from India to Bangladesh,” said a BSF officer.

The four Bangladeshis — Kamal Halsana (21), Ripon Biswas (24) hailing from Chaudanga district and Bhabesh Halder (38) and Mohammad Ripanuddin (24) hailing from Jhenaidah district — have been handed over to the police.
