Eying on the vote bank of the Aam Aadmi Party government, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) plans to give cards to street vendors sanctioning their business without any hassle. Not only this, the South Corporation’s final budget focused on women security and announced installation of CCTV cameras for all major public areas with a budgetary provision of Rs 5.20 crore on Saturday.
Leader of the House, Ashish Sood who presented the finalised budget said: “We will generate cards for the street vendors who are doing their business in the areas under SDMC. We have made a budgetary provision of Rs 50 lakh for this purpose. With this card they will be able to conduct their business much easily.”
The South Corporation also made a budgetary provision of Rs 5.20 crores for installation of CCTV cameras for all major public areas. “SDMC is committed for Women security in its area. For this, a budgetary provision of Rs 5.20 crore has been made. The areas will be reviewed by the local corporators, area’s Resident Welfare Association (RWA) and police.”
For sterilisation of dogs the budgetary provision has been increased from Rs 2 crore to Rs 10.40 crore.
“For better dog sterilisation, SDMC is purchasing dog vans for which the budgetary provision increased from Rs 60 lakh to Rs 2.10 crores. We will come up with four sterilisation centres which will ensure that the gap between the number of dogs that are sterilised and not sterilised is reduced,” he added.
The South Corporation announced the implementation of the Seventh Central Pay Commission Recommendations in SDMC. The implementation of these recommendation will hike the total amount of salaries that are disbursed by the South corporation. Among other things, a Rebate for Green Credits of 1 per cent in property tax for development of terrace garden/ greenery in SDMC area was announced.
