CM Gupta visits Karol Bagh Temple & offers prayers on Hanuman Janmotsav
New Delhi: Marking the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday visited the 108-ft Shri Sankat Mochan Dham temple in Karol Bagh, where she offered prayers for the well-being, peace and prosperity of the people of the capital.
The Chief Minister participated in rituals at the temple and joined devotees in reciting the Hanuman Chalisa. The visit witnessed the presence of a large number of devotees, temple authorities and dignitaries, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta highlighted the enduring relevance of Lord Hanuman’s ideals. “His ideals continue to inspire us to serve society and the nation selflessly,” she said, describing him as a symbol of service, dedication and courage. She added that such religious occasions play an important role in promoting unity and positive energy in society.
Extending her greetings to citizens, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the blessings of Lord Hanuman would bring “lasting peace, happiness and prosperity” to Delhi. She also urged people to imbibe values of harmony, cooperation and service in their daily lives.
During her visit, Gupta interacted with devotees and members of the temple trust, acknowledging their role in organising the event. She reiterated the Delhi government’s commitment to preserving the city’s cultural and spiritual heritage, stating that such celebrations strengthen social bonds and collective positivity.
Officials said the visit was part of the government’s broader efforts to remain connected with cultural and religious traditions across communities in the capital.
Hanuman Janmotsav, celebrated across the country with devotion, marks the birth of Lord Hanuman and is observed with prayers, bhajans and recitations, drawing large gatherings of devotees at temples.
