A 34-year-old woman journalist working for an English newspaper, was allegedly raped by her friend. The matter came to light when the woman approached the Vasant Kunj (North) police station on Friday night and reported the matter.
The 38-year-old accused, however, managed to flee by the time the case was registered. A police team was deployed immediately to nab the accused, said a source. He further said the accused has been booked under Section 376 (rape) and other relevant sections of the IPC.
According to the source, the woman is divorced and has an eight-year old daughter. She reportedly met the accused in a club six years ago, after which they became friends and visited each others’ residences quite often. The accused is a resident of Vasant Kunj (South).
The source further said that the woman and the accused had also lived together for a while in the past. The woman is a native of Jaipur, settled in Delhi.
