In a startling incident in the Capital on Sunday, a 16-year-old boy brutally murdered three women while injuring one more over just Rs 50. Reportedly, one of the victims had complained to the boy's mother a few days ago and the accused wanted revenge. The gruesome incident took place in Jahangir Puri area of southwest district and the minor has been arrested.
According to police, Vineeta (30), had complained to mother of the accused, Raman (name changed) that he had taken a loan of Rs 50 from her, which he failed to return. Raman's mother then scolded him and he had been thirsting for revenge ever since. “He had been looking for an opportunity to avenge himself and finally got the chance on Sunday night. The other two victims have been identified as Devi (40) and her daughter Jyoti (23),” said police.
On the fateful night around 8.30 pm, Santra Devi and her daughter heard commotion coming from Vineeta's house and rushed there to find that Raman, also a neighbour, was stabbing Vineeta repeatedly using a sharp-edged pair of scissors.
They tried to intervene but the accused stabbed them fatally as well. Another woman, Laxmi, fortunately escaped with minor injuries while trying to help the victims.

On interrogation, Raman revealed that he worked in a factory in Jahangirpuri. Last month, he could not give enough money to his mother and so borrowed Rs 50 from Vineeta. When his mother got to know about it, she abused and beat him . Raman told the police that he felt humiliated and wanted revenge .
Meenu Chaudhary, DCP (North West) said, “In the last month, Raman made at least five to six attempts to catch Vineeta alone and finally got a chance on Sunday.” A case of murder has been registered and the boy has been sent to juvenile home.
The premeditated triple murder has yet again sparked the issue of rising tendencies of violence among teenagers in metros.
