Prime accused of Entally firing arrested

Police informed the accused Jamil Ahmed alias Sk Niazul, the mastermind of the gang is a resident of Entally, had open fired on Thursday leaving Sheikh Aslam injured. The incident of firing took place in the day time in a congested area which led to panic in the area as there were repeated clashes between the gang headed by Niazul and his rival group. Deputy Commissioner of police (Eastern Sub-Urban Division), Debasmita Das visited the spot.

On Sunday morning, police received a tip off that Niazul had boarded a train from Howrah Station to escape from the state. Investigation revealed that he had boarded Rajdhani Express when he was about to reach Burdwan Railway Station. The investigating officers from the city contacted the police in Burdwan and sent his photograph after which Police arrested him from inside the compartment of the train as soon as it reached Burdwan Railway Station. 
 
According to the police, on Thursday, three criminals belonging to the group of Niazul had started bombing and around five youths came on two motorbikes and they opened fired at Aslam, who received injuries on his right leg. Initial investigation revealed that Aslam was close to Sheikh Masad and Iqbal, two real estate agents to whom Niazul turned rival following a dispute over a flat.
