Prime accused in 13-yr-old’s trafficking arrested

Delhi Police arrested the prime accused on Tuesday night who is responsible for the trafficking of a 13-year-old girl who was repeatedly raped by different men for over six months. According to the police, the accused person has been identified as Minhaaz Janish, alias Raju (24). Police are trying to nab the others who were also involved in repeatedly raping the minor girl. According to the doctors of Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where the minor girl is undergoing treatment, the girl has serious injury marks all over her body and is in a critical condition. On November 9, after the girl lost her way in the Metro while going to meet a client, she was rescued by the Faridabad Police. Subsequently, she was taken under the custody of the Child Welfare Committee where she was kept in a shelter home. However, after the collaborative intervention of an NGO and the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), the girl was shifted to Delhi. Police have filed charges under Sections 376 (rape), 344 (Wrongful confinement for ten or more days), 370 A (Exploitation of a trafficked person), 377 (unnatural offences)of the IPC and sections of the POCSO Act against Minhaaz.
