Notorious criminal who escaped from Delhi Police custody nabbed

A notorious criminal who was involved in several heinous crimes and had recently escaped from the custody of Delhi Police personnel while being taken to Rampur Court has been finally arrested by Delhi Police Special Cell on Tuesday.

According to the police, the accused Mobin, a native of Rampur in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested from Gokalpuri flyover while he was escaping in a Swift.  One 315 country made pistol and 4 live cartridges were recovered from his possession. In this regard a case under Arms Act has been registered in the Special Cell.

He was actively involved in several crimes since 2000. In the recent past, he had killed one Khalil Ahmed, who was a resident of Okhla. On January 19, after being produced in the same case, he managed to escape from the custody of Delhi Police personnel who had escorted him from Delhi to Rampur.

In connection to this case, the police have registered a case at Civil Lines police station, Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.

After being produced in the case he was taken to ‘Tourist’ hotel near railway station, Rampur, for attending nature’s call before his return journey to Delhi. Five police personnel were keeping a watch over him. Still, Mobin managed to flee from the window outlet of the bathroom. “The motive behind this escape was that he was looking for an opportunity to eliminate Mohd Salman, as he had an apprehension that Salman might get him killed in jail to avenge the murder of his uncle Khalil Ahmed,” said Sanjeev Yadav Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell).

About 13 other cases were already registered against him. All the cases have been verified.
