Ministry of Urban Development declared the result of “Swachh Survekshan” on February 15 at Nehru Place Club which is the City Sanitation ranking survey under Swachh Bharat Mission, which was conducted to assess the mission progress and performance of the cities on sanitation and hygiene parameters in line with the objectives. 73 major cities – including 53 cities with a population of above 1 million + each, and state capitals were assessed with a goal to scale up the survey to the entire nation before the end of this year. Mysore has topped followed by Chandigarh (2nd rank), Tiruchirapalli (3rd rank) and New Delhi Municipal Council (4th rank). Nagpur and Allahabad got awards in fastest improved city. New Delhi Municipal Council has been awarded as the best performing city among Smart Cities and in Service Level Status Category during “Swachh Survekshan” and has scored 939 out of 1000.
