Seeking to encourage residents to take up public transport, some Delhi legislators on Sunday raised awarenes about the second round of the odd-even car rationing scheme, starting April 15.

The Arvind Kejriwal government has asked all MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to monitor preparations and coordinate with it during the 15-day plan. In North Delhi’s Burari area, AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha, along with party volunteers, carried out a cycle rally to make people aware of the scheme.

In Trinagar Assembly constituency, MLA Jitender Singh Tomar also took out a ‘March for Environment’ and appealed to people to follow the odd-even scheme to make Delhi a pollution-free city.

The government has decided to keep women out of the road-rationing plan. Cars carrying children in school uniform shall also be out of its ambit. “We want public cooperation for the success of the event. It was due to massive public support that Odd Even Part-I was successful and we are committed to make it a success with the full support of public this time too,’ said Gopal Rai, Transport Minister.
