The officials informed that the concerned departments have acquired land and now they are looking at other requirements to fast-track the projects.

“The authorities, in order to speed-up metro projects, are leaving no stone unturned. We are doing our best to start the construction work on time,” said Rama Raman, Chairman and CEO of both Noida and Greater Noida Authorities.

According to the authority officials, initial works like survey and land acquisition on 3.962-kilometre long Kalindi Kunj and Botanical Garden have been completed and now approach road is being constructed near Amity University. Lands for quarters of CISF and Metro staff are being decided. Electric poles, water pipelines, 4G and OFC cables coming in Metro routes are being shifted.

“As construction work will begin before the end of this month, hurdles coming in the way should be removed as soon as possible,” said a senior official. The project requires about 45,000 square metres of land which has been acquired.

To be built at a cost of Rs 845 crore, the elevated section, which will be a part of Delhi Metro Phase-III from Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden, is expected to be ready for use by commuters by 2016. Metro station with the name Okhla bird sanctuary will fall on this stretch.

The proposed extension will start from the dead end of the existing Noida City Centre station and run straight along the median of Captain Shashi Kant Marg for about 2.2 km before taking a left turn near Sector 52. It will run straight on the median of road leading to Sector 62 and along NH-24 for about 4.5km.
