After five years of the murder of a budding model, Bidhannagar Police arrested the accused Ajay Shukla from Patna on Thursday.
The 39-year-old man had been running from one city to another to avoid getting arrested. Finally, the Bidhannagar Police tracked his mobile phone tower location and arrested him from Patna.

On April 26, 2012 the victim Sonia Sarkar's body was found from the lawn of the Uniworld City Housing Complex at New Town. Initially, police had suspected that she had committed suicide by jumping from her rented flat in the twelfth floor of the residential complex.

But the police had not ruled out the possibility that the death could be of homicide in nature as they came to know that a person often used to visit her flat. The budding model had rented the flat in Uniworld City Housing Complex as she had preferred to stay somewhere close to the airport.

Police came to know that she had started staying alone after the reported rift in her parents' relationship. Further investigation had revealed that she had got engaged in a relationship with Ajay. She was unaware that Ajay was married and had a kid. The situation had turned worse when she started pressing him to marry her. In a bid to get rid of the "trouble", Ajay had decided to kill Sonia.

On April 26, 2012 he took her to the balcony of the flat and pushed her from there. He had not left any clue in the flat which would raise suspicion that Sonia was murdered. The police came to know about Ajay after going through the call details of Sonia and started tracking him.

But he kept hopping from once city to another and he used to keep changing his mobile phone number often. Finally, the police tracked him and arrested him from Patna.
He was produced before a court on Friday and remanded in the custody of police for five days.
