While returning home, an assistant manager with Indian Oil Corporation was robbed off his car and valuables by four unidentified persons including a woman in Outer Delhi’s Rohini area during the wee hours of Sunday. Police are yet to arrest the robbers.
The victim has been identified as Sourabh Gautam (26), a resident of Rohini. He is employed with IOC in Karnal. His parents are currently with his elder brother in USA.
According to police, on late Saturday night Gautam was at his friend’s house to attend a party.
During the wee hours of Sunday when Gautam left his friend’s house in his Hyundai <g data-gr-id="36">Xcent</g> <g data-gr-id="32">car</g> he was intercepted by a white WagonR near Ayodhya Chowk in Outer Delhi.
When Gautam applied brakes to avert <g data-gr-id="37">collision</g>, one of the occupants of the WagonR came out of his car and forced Gautam to come out from his car.
The occupant threatened him by pulling out a pistol. In the meantime, two other armed men joined him and asked him to <g data-gr-id="28">handover</g> cash and other valuables which Gautam possessed.
Gautam told police that one woman was also a part of the gang who was sitting inside the WagonR during the robbery. She was wearing a mask to hide her identity. “The assailants robbed the car and fled away in the two cars including the robbed car,” the police said. Gautam told police that he failed to note down the registration number of the WagonR.
The victim then walked back to his home and narrated the incident to his neighbour who accompanied him to the local police station. A case under the relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against unknown persons and the probe is on.
