The matter came to light on Friday morning at around 7.16 am when Bhagwan Das (48), his daughter Sarita (20) and wife Sharda (48) were found unconscious. Bhagwan Das and Sarita were pronounced dead when rushed to Rao Tula Ram hospital while Sharda died during treatment.
According to the suicide note reportedly written by Bhagwan Das, in 2014 his son Kuldeep wanted to take admission in MBBS and to get the admission a few people known to Bhagwan Das took Rs 30 lakh cash and a Demand Draft of Rs 5 lakh as bribe. But till 2015, they did not help Kuldeep in getting admission in any of the medical colleges.
However, Kuldeep himself managed to get admission in one of the medical colleges in Russia and went to study there. In his first year, he scored 94 per cent and last month he returned home at Khera Dabar in Jafarpur Kalan. He then contacted those people to whom his family had given Rs 35 lakh and they denied to return the money, the suicide note in possession with Millennium Post reads.
Meanwhile, it was learnt that the family was already undergoing financial crisis so Das had taken some money from his father to send Kuldeep to Russia and Das was unable to return the debt.
As per the suicide note, Das further wrote that after Kuldeep learnt that they have been cheated of Rs 35 lakhs, he got a heart attack and died. “However, during the on-going investigation it was learnt that Kuldeep too had committed suicide but the family had not informed the police,” a senior police officer said.
According to police, the trio were also in depression after loosing Kuldeep and also because of not being able to pay back the loan taken from Das’s father and others for Kuldeep’s education. Hence, they ate poisonous substance to end their lives. “We have initiated an inquiry under Section 174 CrPC and are also in search of the two persons,” said the official.
