FDI rise in UP

The US and other prominent foreign countries have shown a keen interest in making a huge investment in Uttar Pradesh. During her recent meeting with chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, US
ambassador Nancy Powell said that
number of US companies were interested in making investment in India within IT sector and other core areas.

Nancy Powell told the UP chief minister that US companies appreciated the industrial policy of UP government, especially in IT sector and solar energy. US ambassador informed the chief minister that soon a delegation of US companies would visit UP and interact with the government to chart out the plan for going ahead with the investment.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav also informed US ambassador about the core sector where there was more possibility of investment. It would be worth mentioning here that few months back, one trade delegation from US had come along with the representatives from 13 big companies.

At that time too, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had showcased the market of UP to the members of US delegation. The members of the delegation had detailed meeting with senior bureaucrats of UP who assured all help and speedy disposal of the requests from US companies. The member of American delegation too had extended the invitation to chief minister Akhilesh Yadav to visit US and interact with other companies.

At a time when China has made its presence everywhere, Taiwan has shown interest in making investment in
electronic system design and manufacturing areas in UP.
According to available information, very soon a delegation from Tawain under the leadership of its ambassador T Sian and members of the companies will visit UP. During last one and half year, envoys of more then a dozen countries have visited Lucknow and met young chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and explored the possibility of investment in the state.
