DJB’s new pumping station at Dhichaun Kalan inaugurated

Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra on Tuesday inaugurated an underground reservoir and booster pumping station of Delhi Jal Board of 38.6 million litre capacity at the Dhichaun Kalan area of Najafgarh.

DJB said that the work includes building a 2.50 km feeder water line and 45 km of distribution water lines, whose total cost would come around Rs 64 crore. “The complete project is expected to be completed in 18 months. The UGR will receive treated water from Nangloi Water Treatment Plant through 900mm dia water line from Nangloi Najafgarh Road and is expected to benefit around 3 lakh people,” the DJB said.

The colonies to be benefited include Dhichaun Kalan village, Jharoda Kalan village, Mitroan village, Kair village, Surakh Pur village and Ekta Vihar among others. 

“DJB is trying its best to provide consumers with an efficient water management system and has rationalised water distribution in the city,” Mishra said.
