In a major crackdown on defaulting builders, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Wednesday cancelled building plans of 17 group housing projects owned by five various building groups.
These builders have been alleged for selling flats without approval from the concerned authority.
The names include big ones like Jaypee Infratech, Gaursons, VGA Developers, Urbania group and Ajnara Group.
"We have cancelled the building maps of 12 more housing projects that belong to Jaypee Infratech, Gaursons, Orris Group, VGA Developers and Ajnara as they had not got the map approved within specific time.
The builders have also sold out flats to home buyers without getting requisite approvals," said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of YEIDA Arun Vir Singh.
This move is likely to be a major setback to several home aspiring citizens who have already invested a large sum of their savings in these projects.
Out of the 17 group housing projects, 12 belong to Jaypee Infratech, two are of Gaursons and one each is owned by Ajnara, Urbania and VGA Developers.
Projects of Jaypee Infratech are located in Sector 19, 25 and 22B along the Yamuna Expressway. Both the projects of Gaursons located in sector 19 along Yamuna Expressway have been called off.
Two projects of Gaursons in Sector 19 are spread over 87,756 square metres and 215 square metres land in its Yamuna City mega township proposed on 250 acre land along the Yamuna Expressway.
The VGA Developers have 20,071 square metre land in Sector 25.
On the other hand, Orris Group has 8,19,105 square metre land in Sector 22D and Ajnara has 85,391 square metre land in Sector 22A.
Singh also stated that these developers kept selling flats without clearing the objections raised by the authority over the maps submitted by them.
"I have issued notices to the developers asking them to submit details of flats sold and money collected from the investors," added YEIDA CEO, Arun Singh.
