Woman, son held for cheating people of Rs 2 crore in exchange for jobs

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Saturday said they have arrested a woman and her son, who cheated unsuspecting people of around Rs two crore by promising them lucrative jobs overseas in their fake company located in Delhi's Pitampura area. 
Police said that over 100 complaints were received at Subhash Place police station against Mastech Experts Pvt Ltd, located in Omaxe Tower-II near Netaji Subhash Place in Pitampura, for making false promises to applicants for immigration and jobs in countries like Germany, Canada and Australia.
Madhuri Sharma, her son Vishal and her cousin Ashok Kumar allegedly took large sums of money and the passports from the applicants and deliver job appointment letters to them, which were later found to be fake, cops added.
At the time of their arrest, the accused had settled in Pune and were about to start a similar business with a new name.
While Madhuri and Vishal have been nabbed, Ashok is still absconding, police said.
"The three accused used to run 'committees' when they were residing in Vidyapati Nagar, Inder Enclave-II, Nirhari in Delhi and swindled money from many innocent persons.
"They opened a call center by the name of Mastech Eexpert Infosolution Pvt Ltd with the money at Aggarwal City Plaza, near Rohini Sector-3," DCP (North West)Aslam Khan said on Saturday.
"However, they incurred losses in this business. So, they closed it and started a new business of sending people abroad with job opportunities in lieu of huge amount of fees.
"However, they did not fulfill any of their promises and simply absconded with the total amount collected from the unsuspecting applicants," she added.
"The cheated amount is Rs two crore at present," Khan further said.
