New Delhi: A female journalist from an English daily was stalked by an unidentified man outside her office on Wednesday evening as she stepped put of her office and headed towards her car at ITO.
The woman journalist also claimed that the man also unzipped himself as she sat inside her car. The woman said that she felt threatened and harassed after the incident. The Delhi Police has forwarded the matter to Central Delhi DCP to look into the case of stalking and indecent gesture.
The journalist has alleged that at around 7:15 pm as she came out of her office, a man started asking her for some food to eat. The woman then ignored the man and walked towards her car which was parked outside. However, the man followed the journalist to her car and stood next to the window as she tried to start her car.
"I have hit the panic button in my head by now and realise I had gear locked my car so can't start the engine immediately. While I unlock the gear and before I can start my vehicle's ignition, the man has unzipped himself and is saying something," said the woman.
The woman claims that the man also tried pulling out something from his pocket. However, by this time the woman managed to start her car and drive out.
"While it took me some time to get over the shock of the situation, I also know I was lucky. Made me realise that sometimes there is not even time to pull out your pepper spray or your phone from the bag to make that SOS call," said the woman.
The Delhi Police has contacted the woman and has referred the mater to DCP central for further inquiry and necessary action.
