A 37-year-old woman was strangulated to death with a shawl inside her house by her lover over a trivial issue in East Delhi's New Ashok Nagar area on Monday.
The incident came to light when the police received a PCR call informing them that a woman was found dead inside her house in Kondli located in East Delhi's New Ashok
Nagar area.
The police had shifted the woman's body to Lal Bahadur Shahstri (LBS) hospital where the doctors had confirmed that she was murdered. "When we reached the house we found the woman with strangulation marks.
The cops arrested the accused, Kamil and registered a case at the New Ashok Nagar police station. The police contacted the deceased, Sameena's family and also questioned her neighbours. Later, they managed to find her mobile phone and investigated her call records when her boyfriend, Kamil's role came to light.
Kamil went missing soon after the incident. Following this, the cops tracked his using technical surveillance and he was nabbed from his house in Noida.
"When he was interrogated he confessed to his crime. He told us that he used to visit the woman frequently at her residence. On the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday he had a fight with her over some trivial issue and strangulated her with her shawl," said a top cop.
